It seems incredible that it’s been a year and a half since we left Ushuaia. It seems untrue that we have traveled to so many places we used to found unattainable. It seems incredible that we are the ones who appear in the photos that we see again and again. It seems untrue that we have only one continent left to visit. It seems incredible that we are almost to take the plane back home … Home! How many different places have we called “home” in this year and a half?
What a concoction of sensations! That this stage is completed implies that we are going, that we leave all this behind and that we return to the known, but after a long time away. Will it still be “the known”? We are no longer the same. Today we have a year and a half of experiences in the head and feelings in the heart, which will surely accompany us for the rest of our lives.
Yes! It was worth it! We lived a year and a half from an amazing trip and would go again a thousand times. And we recommend it to all who are in doubt, because if you are in doubt it is because there is something inside that wants to leave but is afraid. And the fears must be faced. But it is also true that we were a year out and our people stayed away. We missed birthdays, barbecues, mates, weddings, births, parties… And for that too, there is no turning back.
How hard is to choose when there is always something lost, and everything is so important! How hard is to live so much, having only one life!
As a traveling friend told us…
That’s why we return too. Not only because our pockets are empty; this is more of an excuse. We return because birthdays, barbecues, mates, marriages, births and festivities are also important for us. We return because we miss people and we want to say it in front of them, with a hug.
But we go back with projects and that also generates a lot of enthusiasm and makes no farewells definitive. The short-term projects encourage, give a more palpable sense to the day to day. We return with the desire to arrive, but also thinking about going out again, trying to live the interim because sometimes with so many projects, that escapes us.
A new stage begins for these Mates Viajeros, who today are dying to return to share some verdes with our people, and to start with the new project that who knows where it will lead us.
Thank you, as always, for being there! For following us, for being interested in our trip, for always throwing us good vibes and for helping us to keep on going with this adventure, that without hesitation, will continue!
Big traveler hug and good routes for everyone!
